Are you an experienced litigation lawyer looking to specialise in complex fraud work with one of the UK's leading counter-fraud teams?
We're looking for an ambitious and analytical lawyer to join our Counter Fraud division, where you'll play a key role in defending insurer clients against suspected fraudulent motor claims. Working alongside experienced fraud specialists and Lead Lawyers, you'll manage your own litigated caseload while helping to shape litigation strategies that combat emerging fraud risks.

The caseload will consist of a range of suspected fraudulent insurance claims consisting of the following types of claim:
- Staged/Contrived
- Fraudulent Exaggeration
- Induced accidents
- Low Speed Impact
- Late Notification Claims
- Credit Hire Fraud
- MIB
- Linked & Organised Crime
Responsibilities in case management include, but not limited to:
- Managing a caseload of litigated suspected fraud claims from litigation through to resolution.
- Reviewing and analysing evidence to develop effective case strategies.
- Working closely with insurer clients and claims handlers on a non-delegated basis.
- Conducting investigations and identifying strategic litigation opportunities.
- Ensuring compliance with court timetables, procedural requirements and client guidelines.
- Reporting on case progress and delivering commercially focused outcomes.
- Supporting the identification of fraud trends and emerging risks.
- Maintaining accurate case management records and achieving agreed KPIs.
Working Hours
35 hours per week
Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.
Primary location for this role is Bolton, Parklands Office.
We are agile workers with attendance at our offices at least 1 day a week

Experience in civil litigation claims handling / as a legal File Handler or suitably qualified (ILEX, LPC etc.)
- Experience in handling linked and organised fraud is desirable however not essential
- Experience of handling RTA pre-litigated and / or litigated case load
- An understanding of insurance litigation practice and processes together with indemnity principles
- Knowledge of the litigation process / working knowledge of the CPR
- Good advocacy skills
- Good client care skills and evidence of working to client guidelines
- High level of analytical skills
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise work, keep to deadlines and work under pressure
- Ability to anticipate problems and identify solutions
- Experience of time recording and billing systems
- Excellent IT Skills
Desirable: Qualified solicitor / CILEX with necessary practice rights (consideration will also be given to CILEX Lawyers)
