At TRP, the People & Development (P&D) team is responsible for ensuring we attract, develop and retain the people and skills we need to deliver our business goals. We shape our people strategy, lead on people processes such as recruitment, induction and performance management, and support teams, managers and individuals to help them deliver their objectives.
We’re a small team that prides itself on being collaborative, responsive and professional, and we’re looking for someone to join us who has a genuine interest in HR and the enthusiasm to get involved and make a positive contribution to the team from day one.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as a point of contact across the business, providing P&D support and guidance on employee matters including absence, wellbeing, leave, development, training and policies
- Keeping employee data accurate and up to date, following processes and best practice, including GDPR compliance
- Writing T&Cs letters to staff, ensuring they are accurate and professional
- Supporting the P&D team with the smooth delivery of people processes
- Managing family leave processes, ensuring a supportive and compliant approach
- Preparing and issuing accurate and timely employment, mortgage and financial references
- Analysing HR data, including staff survey results, to spot trends and opportunities for improvement
- Keeping up to date with employment law and best practice to ensure that we’re always compliant and offering the best possible service to the business
- Supporting recruitment activities, including advertising roles, liaising with candidates, shortlisting and organising events
- Coordinating our induction programme for new starters and handling all communications ahead of their start date
- Supporting staff engagement activities and internal communications to build a strong sense of community
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Great at building strong relationships with colleagues and both internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
- Trustworthy and discreet when handling sensitive or confidential information
- Highly organised, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
- Detail-focused, with a high level of accuracy in their work
- A confident communicator, able to engage with people at all levels
- A proactive problem-solver with a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
- Confident using Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
It would be great if you also:
- Have previous HR experience or experience in a similar business or customer-focused role
- Hold a degree in a relevant subject or an equivalent qualification (such as those awarded by CIPD)
