£80,000–£85,000 per annum + 20% Annual Bonus
Compass Associates are exclusively supporting the appointment of a Home Manager for a medium sized nursing home in Hertfordshire, following a recent acquisition by an established and growing care provider.
The home provides nursing care within a well-established service, and the successful Home Manager will take overall responsibility for the home's operational performance, care standards, team and resident experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Home Manager to join the service at an important stage of its development, providing strong leadership and stability while taking the home forward under new ownership.
The successful candidate will ideally be a Registered Nurse, although applications will be considered from strong non-clinical Home Managers with a proven track record of successfully managing nursing services.
The Role
As Home Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the home, including:
- Leading, developing and supporting the management team and wider workforce.
- Maintaining high standards of care, governance and compliance.
- Ensuring the home remains inspection-ready and continues to meet regulatory requirements.
- Managing budgets, staffing levels and overall operational performance.
- Driving strong occupancy and maintaining positive relationships with residents, families and stakeholders.
- Developing a positive culture across the home and ensuring residents remain at the centre of decision-making.
- Working closely with the wider operational team during the transition following the recent acquisition.
- Taking ownership of the home's ongoing development and performance.
About You
You will be an experienced Home Manager with:
- A strong background within elderly residential and nursing care.
- Previous experience managing a nursing home or nursing provision.
- A proven track record of delivering strong care and operational standards.
- Good knowledge of CQC requirements, governance and compliance.
- Experience managing budgets, staffing and operational performance.
- The ability to lead, motivate and develop a strong team.
- A hands-on and visible leadership style.
- The confidence and experience to take ownership of a 50-bed service.
- Registered Nurse status would be advantageous but is not essential.

Package
- £80,000–£85,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

The home is based in Hertfordshire, with excellent access from Watford, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Hertford, Hitchin, Letchworth Garden City, Borehamwood, Harpenden, Bushey, Potters Bar, Rickmansworth, Berkhamsted, Ware, Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and surrounding areas.
