About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, proactive and safety-conscious FLT Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our Operations team.
Working within our distribution centre, you will play an important role in the safe and efficient movement, storage and handling of goods, while supporting our warehouse, order fulfilment and logistics operations.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in working safely, keeping an organised warehouse and delivering a consistently high level of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate FLT equipment in line with company procedures and relevant training/authorisation.
- Complete pre-use FLT checks and report any defects or safety concerns.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing deliveries.
- Move, position and store stock safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring goods are handled carefully and securely.
- Put stock away accurately and maintain an organised warehouse.
- Pick and prepare stock for customer orders.
- Check stock and report shortages, damage or discrepancies.
- Ensure goods are stacked and stored safely, considering weight, stability and product protection.
- Record stock and consignment information accurately, including weights and dimensions where required.
- Assist with the preparation and handover of consignments to couriers.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and Health & Safety.
- Support wider warehouse, order fulfilment and logistics activities as required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- FLT trained, qualified and/or authorised for the equipment they operate.
- Committed to safe working practices and Health & Safety.
- Reliable, trustworthy and able to work consistently to a high standard.
- Positive, proactive and friendly, with good communication skills.
- Tidy, organised and detail-focused.
- Comfortable working in a busy warehouse environment.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good at managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Safety-conscious and aware of colleagues, vehicles, pedestrians and stock.
- Motivated to provide an excellent level of service.
Experience working in a computerised stock warehouse environment, including computer and scanning systems, is required. Previous warehouse and FLT experience is preferred.
