Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Bench Joiner / Fitter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves the fabrication, assembly, and fitting of bespoke furniture pieces, utilizing a variety of hand tools, power tools, and carpentry techniques. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering high-quality products that meet precise specifications while adhering to safety standards and project deadlines.
Duties
- Fabricate and assemble furniture components using hand tools, power tools, and joinery techniques to meet detailed design specifications.
- Operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and finishing materials.
- Fit assembled furniture into designated spaces on-site or in the workshop, ensuring proper alignment and finish.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or bulky components during fabrication or installation.
- Assist with construction painting, finishing, or touch-up work to achieve a polished final appearance.
- Support plumbing or electrical installations if required for integrated furniture solutions.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, or carpentry within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as chisels, saws, drills, and screwdrivers.
- Familiarity with power tools including routers, sanders, and drills.
- Knowledge of joinery techniques relevant to furniture making and fitting.
- Experience working with roofing materials or masonry is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during material handling.
- Basic understanding of construction painting, plumbing, electrical work, or masonry is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills.
- Ability to follow technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Attendance
7am – 430pm (Mon – Thu); 7am – 12pm (Fri)
Note – hours may vary when on Fitting duties. Overtime will be paid accordingly
