Night Team Leader – Senior Care Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Night Team Leader to oversee the smooth running of our care home during night shifts. This role includes responsibility for medication administration, personal care, and leading a team to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to residents.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and proven experience supervising care staff within a residential or nursing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support the night care team to ensure consistently high standards of care
- Administer medication safely and in line with policies and procedures
- Assist with the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and best practice guidelines
- Provide hands-on support with personal care where required
- Promote effective communication between staff, residents, and families
- Monitor staff performance, offering guidance, support, and feedback
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident care and staff activity
- Ensure the home remains safe, secure, and well-managed throughout the night
- Support recruitment processes, including interviewing and onboarding new team members when required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Team Leader or Senior Care role, preferably within a care home setting
- Strong leadership ability with a proactive and organised approach
- Experience in administering medication and managing care plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills for care documentation and reporting
- Sound knowledge of health and safety standards in adult social care
- A compassionate and person-centred approach to elderly care
