We're looking for a friendly and reliable Front of House team member to join us at Gibby's.
This is a customer-facing role where you'll play an important part in making sure everyone who comes through our doors feels welcome, looked after and able to enjoy their time with us. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys dealing with people, takes pride in good service and is happy working as part of a team.
The Role
As a Front of House Team Member, you'll be involved in the day-to-day running of our front of house service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming customers and providing friendly, attentive service throughout their visit
- Taking food and drink orders accurately
- Serving our selection of cheeses, local charcuterie, nibbles, sharing plates and beverages
- Being familiar with our menu so you can confidently answer customer questions and make recommendations
- Checking in with customers and responding promptly to any requests
- Preparing and clearing tables and keeping the dining area clean, tidy and inviting
- Following all relevant food hygiene, health and safety procedures
- Working closely with the rest of the team to keep service running smoothly
- Helping with opening, closing and general front of house duties as required
- Maintaining the standards of service and presentation we expect at Gibby's
About You
Previous hospitality experience would be useful, but it isn't essential. We're happy to provide full training to the right person.
More importantly, we're looking for someone who:
- Is friendly, approachable and comfortable speaking with customers
- Is reliable and takes responsibility for their work
- Enjoys providing good customer service
- Can remain calm and organised when service gets busy
- Works well as part of a team
- Is willing to learn about our food and drink offering
- Takes pride in keeping their working environment clean and presentable
- Is flexible and willing to support the team where needed.
An interest in food, cheese, charcuterie and local produce would be a welcome bonus, but you certainly don't need to be an expert. We'll help you learn what you need to know.
Hours
Our main working days are Thursday to Sunday and shifts will be scheduled across these days according to the needs of the business.
We're looking for people who can offer a reasonable degree of flexibility, particularly during busy periods. Working hours and expected availability will be discussed during the recruitment process so that both sides have a clear understanding of what is required.
Renumeration
Pay will be at least the applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage and will be discussed based on experience and the requirements of the role.
Experience
Pervious experience in hospitality, food service, bars, restaurants or another customer-facing environment is an advantage, but is not essential.
Full training will be provided, so we're equally interested in hearing from people who are new to hospitality but have the right attitude and want to learn.
What we're looking for
At Gibby's good front of house service isn't about being overly formal. It's about noticing when somebody needs something, knowing the food and drink you're serving, keeping things running smoothly and making people feel genuinely welcome.
If you're dependable, enjoy working with people and would like to be part of a small hospitality team where good service means, we'd be pleased to hear from you.
Gibby's is committed to providing equal opportunities in employment. Applications are welcomed from suitably qualified candidates regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage, civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. Recruitment decisions will be based on the requirements of the role, skills, experience and suitability for the position.

Benefits:
- Discounted or free food
- Employee discount
- Sick pay
Work Location: In person
