We are looking for an organised, calm and reliable Care Coordinator to join our Walfinch Newcastle team.
This is a key role, helping to make sure our clients receive safe, consistent and high-quality home care. You will support the smooth running of the service by coordinating care visits, managing rotas, communicating with clients and families, and supporting our care team day to day.
This role would suit someone who is confident, practical and good with people. It may also suit someone who is looking to grow into a Deputy Manager, Care Manager or Level 5 pathway in the future. We are happy to support the right person with training and funded courses.
What you’ll be doing
Your main responsibility will be making sure care visits are planned, organised and running smoothly.
The role will include:
- Creating and updating care rotas
- Allocating carers to clients based on needs, skills, availability and location
- Arranging cover for sickness, absence and changes to visits
- Speaking with clients, families and carers in a professional and supportive way
- Answering calls and responding to queries
- Keeping records accurate and up to date
- Monitoring travel time, mileage and routes to help improve efficiency
- Supporting the office team with general administration
- Reporting any concerns, incidents or urgent issues to management
- Helping maintain quality, compliance and confidentiality
- Supporting the wider team when needed to keep the service running safely
- Taking part in the paid out-of-hours on-call rota
What we’re looking for

- Good at solving problems quickly and sensibly
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Confident speaking with clients, families and care staff
- Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Keen to learn, develop and progress within the care sector
Experience
Previous experience in care coordination, rostering or home care would be helpful, but we are also interested in people with strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
It would be beneficial if you have:
- Experience using rostering software
- Previous experience in care or health and social care
- Good local knowledge of North Tyneside, Newcastle, South Tyneside and Gateshead
- Understanding of CQC requirements
- A full UK driving licence
