Head of Landlord Compliance
Location: Home based | Some National Travel Required

Salary: circa £82,500 per annum inc car allowance
Role Overview
As our Head of Landlord Compliance you'll lead the strategic delivery of landlord compliance services across a national property portfolio. Responsible for gas safety, electrical safety, lifts, asbestos, water safety, communal heating and mechanical services, you'll ensure our residents live in safe, well-maintained homes while driving a compliance-first and customer-first culture.
Leading a high-performing team of Contract Managers and Project Managers, you'll oversee complex compliance programmes, manage key supplier relationships, and provide assurance that all statutory and regulatory requirements are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of landlord compliance services including gas, electrical, lift, water, asbestos and mechanical safety programmes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards across the organisation's property portfolio.
- Manage and develop a team of Contract Managers and Project Managers, creating a culture of accountability, performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee inspections, servicing, remedial programmes and planned M&E projects to ensure safe and effective delivery.
- Lead procurement and contract management activities, ensuring value for money, quality service delivery and achievement of KPIs.
- Develop policies, assurance frameworks and internal audits to continuously improve compliance performance.
- Manage budgets, monitor performance data and provide assurance reporting to senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
- Build effective relationships with residents, contractors, regulators and internal stakeholders to deliver excellent outcomes.
- Support incident investigations and provide technical leadership during complex compliance-related events.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in property contract management, compliance services and programme delivery within housing or a related sector.
- Significant leadership experience across multiple compliance disciplines including gas, electrical, lift, asbestos, water and mechanical safety.
- Strong knowledge of landlord compliance legislation, regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks.
- Proven experience managing high-value contracts, suppliers and large operational budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Experience of driving performance improvements through KPIs, governance and assurance processes.
- Educated to HNC, HND or degree level, or able to demonstrate substantial equivalent experience.
- Professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS (desirable) and landlord compliance qualifications across multiple disciplines.
- Full UK driving licence.
