Kapdaa is a UK textile recycling company. We take garment waste that would otherwise go to landfill and turn it into valuable products.
We are building our ERP on ERPNext (Frappe) to run the operation end to end, and we are looking for a developer to build it, extend it and own it.
THE ROLE
You will develop and customise our ERPNext system, integrate it with our existing in-house software and with equipment on the factory floor, and be the person who knows how it all works. There is real ownership here — this is not a configure-the-modules role, and a good part of what we need has to be built rather than switched on. This is an on-site role. Much of the work involves systems and equipment you need to be in front of, so it cannot be done remotely.
We will walk you through our operation and what we are building in detail at interview.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong commercial Python. Frappe is Python, MariaDB and JavaScript — if you know Django or FastAPI well, you will pick it up quickly.
- Solid relational database skills — schema design, migrations, and queries you can reason about under load.
- REST API design and integration work against systems you do not control.
- The temperament for production systems that a business depends on daily.
- Right to work in the UK, and happy to work on site.
EXPERIENCE WE PARTICULARLY VALUE
- Experience implementing ERPNext custom DocTypes, server scripts, bench, hooks, and having taken a real deployment through to live use.
- Experience building software for a large factory or manufacturing operation production, inventory, traceability, shop-floor systems.
- Experience in the recycling or waste industry.
- Integration with industrial equipment weighing systems, serial protocols, scanners, label printers, PLCs or SCADA.
- Any other ERP development background — SAP, Odoo, Dynamics, Business Central, NetSuite.
- Linux, Docker, CI/CD.
We are not asking for an ERPNext certification or a long ERPNext-only career history. We would rather hire an excellent engineer and give them the ramp.
