Join Our Team as a Business Development Manager
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our growing printer cartridge recycling and sales businesses.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional to develop new business relationships, grow our customer base and help organisations turn their used printer cartridges into a more sustainable and environmentally responsible solution.
You will be responsible for identifying and winning new business across a range of sectors, developing long-term customer relationships and promoting our cartridge recycling and collection services, and online sales platforms.
If you're a confident communicator with a proven track record of generating revenue and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
We're looking for someone who can:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK.
- Generate leads through telephone, email, LinkedIn, networking and referrals.
- Target businesses, schools, charities, public-sector organisations, resellers and other organisations producing volumes of used printer cartridges.
- Build relationships with key decision-makers and develop long-term commercial partnerships.
- Present our recycling services and clearly communicate the financial and environmental benefits to potential customers.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and initial contact through to proposal, negotiation and close.
- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline to achieve agreed revenue and growth targets.
- Identify opportunities to increase cartridge collection volumes from both new and existing customers.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure new customer accounts are successfully implemented.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities and customer communications within the CRM.
- Monitor competitor activity and identify new market opportunities.
- Represent the company professionally at meetings, networking events and industry events.
About You
We are looking for someone who is proactive, confident and comfortable creating opportunities rather than waiting for leads to arrive.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in business development, B2B sales or account management.
- A strong track record of winning new customers and achieving sales targets.
- Excellent telephone, written and face-to-face communication skills.
- Confidence approaching and engaging senior decision-makers.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- The ability to build lasting commercial relationships.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a sales pipeline independently.
- A results-focused and entrepreneurial approach.
- Good IT and CRM skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience within our industry (waste, recycling, printer cartridges).
- Experience responding to tenders or procurement opportunities.
- Existing professional network within relevant sectors.
What We Offer
- Pension scheme.
- 20 days holiday plus all UK Bank holidays, accruing an additional holiday day for each year of service, up to 5 years.
- Professional development and career progression opportunities.
- Flexible or hybrid working arrangements.
- Opportunity to play a key role in the growth of an established recycling business.
- Supportive and collaborative team environment, everyone is known by name, you are not just a number.
Why Join Us?
