Job Overview
The George Inn is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. The role involves maintaining our eight en-suite guest rooms to a high standard, with cleaning requirements varying according to occupancy. You will work alongside our current housekeeper, providing cover on days off and additional support during busier periods. From September 2026, there will also be an opportunity for extra hours to assist with cleaning the pub and bar areas before the guest rooms are ready.

Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are used efficiently and stored properly after use
- Report any maintenance issues or damages observed during cleaning to the supervisor
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Adhere to client-specific instructions and preferences for cleaning routines
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure all areas are fully equipped for ongoing use
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning is essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Familiarity with cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures is advantageous
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role
