About PPi
PPi is a third-generation, family-owned precision injection moulding business, founded in 1968 and based in Harlow, Essex. We run 17 moulding presses from 22t to 350t, and hold ISO9001 & IATF 16949.
We manufacture critical, high-specification components and we are proud to support start ups and entrepreneurs alongside leading global organisations across a wide range of sectors including automotive, medical, point of display, security devices, electronics and more.
We are investing in efficiency and growth - from ensuring we have the right systems and processes to efficiently operate, onboarding new advanced technology, and ensuring our people are properly equipped to do their jobs. All of this transfers to enhance what we offer our customers.
This is a newly shaped role for someone who wants to build a pipeline from the front foot and have a direct, visible impact on where the business goes next.
The role
You will own new business development for PPi. This is a hunting role: your job is to find, win and on-board new accounts that diversify and strengthen our order book. You’ll work autonomously, with full backing from the directors and the technical team, and you’ll be measured on the quality and value of the new business you bring in.
You’ll be selling a genuinely differentiated proposition - precision & certified quality, and over half a century of excellent track record with the most exacting brands in the country - into sectors where that is a real advantage.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, target and win new customers, with a focus on diversifying away from PPi’s current dependencies.
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline from first contact through to first production order.
- Develop sector entry plans for priority growth areas.
- Lead commercial negotiations - MOQs, pricing, tooling terms - working with the directors and finance.
- Represent PPi at trade shows, industry events and customer sites, and generate leads from them.
- Work hand-in-hand with the engineering and quality teams to turn enquiries into deliverable, profitable programmes.
- Maintain disciplined CRM records, accurate forecasting and a clear view of pipeline value at all times.
- Feed market intelligence - competitor activity, sector trends, pricing - back into the business.
