Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food preparation, kitchen management, and culinary arts. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food production, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation while fostering a positive work environment.
Job Duties also includes:
- Oversee the operations of kitchen department on a day to day basis ensuring that the correct standards are in place and avoid any deviations. In case of any variation and potential failures, he should be capable to redirect and take control of the situation.
- Lead and manage the team of professional staff working in the kitchen department.
- Ensure that all menus are updated seasonally and aptly priced to ensure maximum gross profit.
- Ensure that par-stock of all materials are always maintained and stored under correct conditions.
- Liaise with management on a continuous basis and highlight any special requirements in advance.
- Ensure that adherences to compliance and statutory hygiene requirements are diligently followed.
- Making random checks to avoid potential wastages and maximize the usage of materials.
- Ensure maintenance problems are promptly reported
- Carry out administrative duties such as Attendance registers, planning duty-roasters, time-sheets, lieu time, holidays and timely reporting of any absenteeism to the management.
- Planning and organizing stock purchase and inventory management for availability of ingredients.
- Responsible for the ordering of food in line with the UK purchasing guidelines.
- Continually seek to develop and improve the image and reputation of the restaurant through your personal effort.
- Develop & maintain good working relationship with restaurants staff and supporting departments.
- Motivate and train the team to bring out the best talent.
- Attend and contribute to all daily/weekly team meetings.
- Be fully conversant with disciplinary procedures and all other relevant human resources practices e.g. sickness/absenteeism.
- Carry out appraisals/job reviews as per the company appraisal system.
- Ensuring recruitment, training, development and staffing levels are carried out as required and also lead by example to project the professional leadership attitude.
- Continuously analyze actual standards observed against department standards. Demonstrate a pro-active approach to delivering company and operational standards and actively challenge any deviations.
- Continuously report on potential risks and opportunities to the management so that insight is created for accurate decision making.
- Develop interactive customer relations and be aware of any possible future requirements. To relay such information and ideas to the management for the enhancement of customer expectations.
- Support with initiative and commitment to the overall objectives of the business in terms of both revenue/costs and team work.
- To have a thorough knowledge of relevant procedures and adherences to the law with regard to the following company regulations: Fire regulations & procedures, Health & safety regulations, First Aid procedures, Food hygiene regulations & Food Safety.
Ø Skill, experience and qualifications required.
5 years+ experience & relevant qualification in hotel management Industry. Specifically in Italian Cuisine.
Relevant experience in the Italian cuisine in order to fulfil the necessities of the ongoing business reputation and authenticity.
Expert Knowledge and skills required in the usage and procurement of authentic ingredients spices and the proportionality of usage of spices in dishes
