KINZ is a new Lebanese brasserie in the heart of Notting Hill, created around generous hospitality, fresh ingredients and the warmth of Lebanese cooking.
Set within a beautifully restored former bank, KINZ brings together thoughtful design, welcoming service and a menu rooted in comfort, flavour and tradition. From breakfast and lunch through to dinner and private events, we want every guest to feel well looked after and every dish to be served with care and consistency.
As the restaurant continues to grow, we are building a passionate and professional front-of-house team who take pride in providing genuine hospitality, support one another and help bring the KINZ experience to life every day.
Role Overview
We are looking for a warm, attentive and professional Waiter to join our front-of-house team and deliver consistently high standards of service across breakfast, lunch, dinner and private events.
The Waiter will play an important role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest. You will take orders accurately, serve food and drinks with care, maintain excellent knowledge of the menu and work closely with the kitchen, bar and management teams to ensure smooth and efficient service.
You will be confident, approachable and attentive, with a genuine care for your responsibilities, as well as willing to develop and employ your best ability to make guests feel comfortable and well looked after.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Service & Hospitality
Welcome guests warmly and help create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Provide attentive, professional and personalised service throughout each guest’s visit.
Take accurate food and drink orders and enter them promptly into the till system.
Serve food and beverages efficiently, following KINZ service and presentation standards.
Anticipate guests’ needs and respond to requests promptly and courteously.
Handle guest questions, feedback and concerns calmly and professionally, involving a manager where required.
2. Menu & Product Knowledge
Develop a strong understanding of the food, drinks and daily specials offered at KINZ.
Confidently explain dishes, ingredients and preparation methods to guests.
Make thoughtful recommendations based on guests’ preferences.
Maintain accurate knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements, following all relevant procedures.
Communicate special requests and allergy information clearly to the kitchen and bar teams.
Stay informed about menu updates, seasonal dishes and promotional activity.
3. Service Preparation & Delivery
Prepare the restaurant before service, including setting tables and checking menus, cutlery, glassware and service stations.
Ensure assigned sections remain clean, organised and fully stocked throughout service.
Follow the correct sequence of service and maintain appropriate timing between courses.
Check food and drink orders before serving to ensure accuracy, quality and presentation.
Clear and reset tables efficiently while maintaining a comfortable experience for guests.
Support opening, closing and daily cleaning duties as required.
4. Teamwork & Communication
Work closely with the kitchen, bar, reception and management teams to ensure smooth service.
Communicate clearly regarding orders, table requirements, delays and guest requests.
Support colleagues during busy periods and contribute to a positive, respectful working environment.
Attend team briefings, training sessions and menu tastings when required.
Help new team members understand KINZ service standards and daily procedures.
Take direction from supervisors and managers while remaining proactive throughout each shift.
5. Payments & Till Procedures
Present bills accurately and process cash, card and other approved payments correctly.
Follow all till, cash-handling and payment procedures.
Ensure discounts, service charges and adjustments are applied accurately and authorised where necessary.
Report discrepancies or payment issues promptly to a manager.
Maintain guest privacy and handle payment information responsibly.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance
Follow all food safety, health and safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
Maintain clean, safe and organised restaurant and service areas.
Ensure tables, chairs, menus, service stations and equipment are kept to a high standard.
Report breakages, maintenance concerns, hazards or accidents promptly.
Follow responsible alcohol service requirements and company policies at all times.
7. Brand & Guest Experience
Represent KINZ with warmth, professionalism and pride.
Help ensure the service reflects the KINZ identity: generous, thoughtful and rooted in Lebanese hospitality.
Support private dining, events and promotional activity where required.
Build positive relationships with regular guests while welcoming new guests with equal care.
Contribute ideas that could improve service, teamwork and the overall guest experience.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience as a Waiter or in a similar front-of-house role within a busy restaurant.
A warm, confident and professional approach to guest service.
A genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Good attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and organised during busy services.
The willingness to discuss menus, make recommendations and respond to guest questions.
An understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
Experience with Lebanese, Middle Eastern or Mediterranean cuisine is beneficial, but not essential.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and pride in upholding excellence.
