We are a small, independent, family-owned Venezuelan cafe and coffee shop based in the East end of Glasgow, working with a very small team.
As a barista, you will play a key role in creating a positive customer experience by providing excellent service and crafting high quality coffee. If you have a passion for specialty coffee, authentic Latin street food and culture and possess the necessary skills, we would love to hear from you.
Barista Skills: Minimum 1 year in specialty coffee
Spanish speaking will be a bonus
The role would be on a part time basis and would be required to work Saturday with a possibility of a mid week shift and Sunday when we occasionally open.
We work as a small team so must be able to handle the pressure of hectic busy periods.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare espresso based drinks focusing on precise extraction, latte art and manual brewing techniques with a knowledge on quality control (dialing in)
- Operate espresso machines and other equipment to make drinks according to established recipes, perform deep cleaning and maintenance of grinders and espresso machines to ensure, high-quality, consistent output.
- Offer friendly, knowledgeable service, suggest menu items, explain complex coffee origins, processing methods, and flavor notes to customers and manage retail sales of beans and pantry items.
- Maintain a clean and organise work area, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and safety of customers.
