We are seeking an ambitious, child-centred, and motivated Registered Manager to lead the development of a brand-new children's home supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to shape a brand-new children’s home, with full support behind you.
It is an exciting time to join Oak Haven Care Group as we are a new children’s residential care provider. We are successful care providers, currently operating adult care services separately. We are looking to expand in the children’s residential care sector throughout 2026. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced manager who wants more than simply managing an established service. You will play a key role in supporting the development of a brand new home, creating the culture, systems, and environment that will shape positive outcomes for children from day one. This is a rare opportunity to genuinely leave your mark on a service and create something exceptional from the very beginning.
You will be fully supported throughout the journey by our experienced leadership team who have worked in children’s residential care for over 5 years.

Key Accountabilities
● To work in accordance with The Children’s Homes England Regulations (2015), Quality Standards as prescribed by the Care Standards Act 2000, the Children’s Act 1989, Children Act 2004 alongside all other legislations that are relevant to residential children’s homes
● To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to ensure that the quality of care provided is consistent with the Children Homes Regulations and the Quality Standards (2015)
● To understand the Ofsted inspection process and framework (SCCIF) to benchmark day to day service delivery
● To take overall responsibility for all regulatory requirements associated with Ofsted registration and the home’s Statement of Purpose
● Ensure that all safeguarding legislation, policies and procedures are adhered to
● To have performance management systems in place to audit comprehensively in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, regulatory submissions:
- Regulation 44
- Regulation 45 Reports
- Regulation 46
● To ensure effective, leadership and management support, supervision and guidance to all staff who are employed in the Children’s Home, retaining a competent, motivated and confident staff team
● To ensure that the Home’s policies and procedures are adhered to and that resources are managed effectively
● To manage and co-ordinate the delivery of individual packages of support for the children and young people and ensure that care plans meet identified needs of children and are regularly reviewed and are outcome focused
To be the responsible person in managing Safeguarding concerns and complaints, alongside the RI/DSL
● To actively promote the Home’s equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice policies
● Ensure that complaints are handled quickly, effectively and sensitively
About You
You will be:

What you will be doing in initial stages
- Pre-registration preparations
- Leading the home through Ofsted registration
- Recruiting, developing and managing your team
- Creating a safe, stable and nurturing environment for young people
- Ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards
- Embedding a child-centred, therapeutic approach
Essential Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within required timescales)
- Significant experience working within children's residential care
- 2 years’ experience in leadership or management within a children's home setting
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- Understanding of Ofsted regulations and inspection framework
- Full UK Driving Licence

Salary & benefits
- £50,000 – £60,000 salary (negotiable depending on experience)
