Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver/Storeperson to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods to various locations, managing store inventory, and ensuring smooth logistical operations. This role requires excellent driving skills, organisational abilities, and a strong focus on safety and customer service. Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, to deliver products to clients and suppliers.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are handled with care and secured properly for transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain signatures upon delivery.
- Manage stock levels within the warehouse, including organising storage areas and conducting regular stock checks.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to warehouse organisation and inventory management.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role.
- Valid driver’s licence with no more than 6 points.
- Experience in commercial driving, preferably with large vehicles such as lorries or vans.
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous, especially involving heavy lifting tasks.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently and manage time effectively during daily routes.
- Physically fit to handle heavy lifting and manual handling requirements associated with warehouse duties.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety standards and vehicle maintenance protocols.
