Main Job Purpose:
To carry out the servicing, repairs, diagnostics on existing installations of security systems in line with NSI requirements and the associated British and European standards. The role will involve traveling to customer sites with overnight stays.
Essential Requirements:
- Good understanding of IP CCTV systems, video management systems (VMS), NVRs, and security networks.
- Knowledge of IP networking, including switches, routers, wireless communications, and remote connectivity.
- Experience in fault finding, servicing, and maintaining CCTV and associated security infrastructure.
- Desire to develop within the renewable energy and security sectors, with exposure to CCTV, networking, telecommunications, electrical systems, and remote monitoring technologies.
- Positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work away from home when required.
- ECS Card / relevant CSCS Card.
- IPAF certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Requirements: (You would like but could be trained in time)
- Towing Licence.
- Experience working on solar farms, utility sites, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of fibre optic communications and wireless transmission systems.
- Familiarity with access control and perimeter detection systems.
- First Aid at Work qualification
- Service, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of:
- IP CCTV systems.
- Network Video Recorders (NVRs) and Video Management Systems (VMS).

Role accountabilities: (overall responsibilities)
- Act in a professional and customer-focused manner when dealing with clients, site personnel, and company employees.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on CCTV and associated security systems installed at solar farm sites.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with company standards, customer requirements, and relevant legislation.
- Conduct inspections, testing, commissioning support, and system health checks as required.
- Diagnose and resolve faults relating to CCTV cameras, NVRs, networking equipment, fibre optic infrastructure, power supplies, and communication systems.
- Provide emergency call-out support on a rota basis, including weekends, public holidays, and periods of staff absence.
- Use company technology platforms and administrative systems (tablet, PDA, mobile applications) to record work completed and maintain accurate service records.
- Liaise with Technical Managers and Project Teams regarding technical issues, system performance, and improvement opportunities.
- Attend internal meetings, toolbox talks, and customer meetings as required.
- Ensure customer expectations are met through high-quality workmanship and excellent communication.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant industry standards, company procedures, and client site requirements.
- Attend internal and external training courses to maintain and develop technical competence.
- Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, and customers.
- Work within the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and company data protection policies.
- Support other operational areas of the business, where appropriate and within capability.
- Undertake any other duties necessary for the effective fulfilment of the role.

Pay: £16.00-£18.50 per hour
