Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant with circa 4 years’ practice experience, who is AAT qualified and confident working independently in a predominantly remote environment. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, capable of taking client records through to draft accounts and tax returns ready for review.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare draft year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies from client records
- Prepare self-assessment and corporation tax returns to review stage
- Review and reconcile client bookkeeping records, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with management accounts where required
- Maintain accurate working papers to support accounts preparation
- Liaise directly with clients to request information and resolve queries
- Ensure work is completed to deadlines and in line with compliance requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- AAT qualified (essential) with approx. 4 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
- Proven experience preparing accounts and tax returns from source records
- Strong working knowledge of cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)

£33,000 FTE
Pay: £33,000.00 per year
