The Role
We are looking for compassionate and committed Residential Support Workers and Senior Residential Support Workers to join our team within our solo-placement homes.
This is a meaningful, hands-on role where you will play a vital part in a young person’s daily life—offering consistency, emotional support, and guidance. You will help create a calm, nurturing environment where the young person can feel secure, build relationships, and make progress.
Senior Residential Support Workers will also take on a key leadership role within the home, supporting staff, leading shifts, and working closely with the management team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing warm, consistent, and therapeutic care in a solo-placement environment
- Building trusting relationships and supporting emotional regulation
- Promoting positive routines, independence, and life skills
- Supporting the implementation of care plans and therapeutic strategies
- Managing and responding to behaviours with empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Maintaining clear and accurate records in line with safeguarding and Ofsted standards
- Working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
Senior Role Responsibilities:
- Leading shifts and acting as a role model for best practice
- Supporting, guiding, and mentoring team members
- Liaising with external professionals and families
- Assisting management in ensuring high standards of care and compliance
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience working in children’s residential care or a similar setting
- A genuine passion for supporting and safeguarding young people
- Ability to respond to challenging behaviour in a calm, therapeutic manner
- Emotional resilience, empathy, and a proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to commit to a rota pattern
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
For Senior Residential Support Worker:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a children’s residential setting
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or working towards
Desirable:
- Experience supporting children with trauma, emotional, or behavioural needs
