Duties
- Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons tailored to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, safety procedures, and stroke development to students
- Monitor swimmer progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during lessons, including supervising pool area activities
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment that motivates swimmers to improve their skills and enjoy water activities
- Maintain accurate attendance records, lesson plans, and progress reports for each student
- Collaborate with colleagues to organize special programs or events that promote water safety awareness and community engagement
Qualifications
- Proven swim teaching experience with a focus on swimming or aquatic activities
- Previous teaching experience in a similar role or setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively instruct diverse groups of learners
- Knowledge of water safety standards and emergency response procedures
- Enthusiastic, energetic attitude with a passion for teaching and helping others succeed
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Certification as a Level 2 Swimming Teacher or equivalent qualification recognised in your region
- Safeguarding certified
