Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food for daily menus, including hot lunch and dinner services
- Provide a high standard of catering service to employees within the workplace catering environment
- Follow all food hygiene, health and safety, and environmental health regulations at all times
- Maintain accurate food temperature records for all cooked items
- Ensure correct food labelling in line with Food Standards Agency (FSA) guidance
- Follow current allergen management procedures and legislation
- Manage stock rotation effectively to minimise waste
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic kitchen and service area
- Serve customers professionally while providing excellent customer service
- Maintain catering equipment and report any faults, hazards, or unsafe practices
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth and consistent catering operations
- Follow company policies relating to equality, diversity, customer care, and health and safety
- Complete any other reasonable duties required within the role
Person Specification (Mandatory Requirements)
Must-Have Requirements
- Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate (essential)
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and allergen requirements
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
- Organised, reliable, and self-motivated approach to work
- Ability to follow catering procedures and maintain high service standards
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Previous experience working in a catering, kitchen, or staff restaurant environment
- Experience preparing and serving hot food
- Knowledge of Food Standards Agency (FSA) guidelines and catering compliance requirements
