SEN Teaching Assistant - Norwich

About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Norwich. This full-time role is set to begin from September, on a long term supply basis. This is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to pupils, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted lessons and activities.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to staff.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents/carers.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN (desirable).
- Two recent references.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Must have clear enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
- A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to individual pupil needs.
- A proactive and flexible attitude.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable.
