After School Cleaning Operative – Term Time Only
Pay: £13.45 per hour
We are looking for a dependable and friendly Cleaning Operative to join the cleaning team at a local school in Chapeltown
This is a short, consistent after school cleaning role, working alongside the other cleaning operatives and caretaker.
Working hours
- Monday to Friday
- 3pm-6pm
- 15 hours per week
- Term-time only, working 38/39 weeks of the school year
- Holiday leave must be taken during school closure periods
The role will include:
- Cleaning designated areas of the school after pupils have finished for the day
- Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors and communal areas
- Cleaning and sanitising toilets and washroom facilities
- Vacuuming carpets and sweeping or mopping hard floors
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly
- Wiping desks, surfaces and frequently touched areas
- Using cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly
- Following the school’s safeguarding, health and safety and colour-coding procedures
- Working cooperatively with the school cleaning team
- Completing other reasonable cleaning duties as required

Previous cleaning experience would be helpful, but a reliable attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check for the child workforce and complete the necessary safeguarding checks before starting work.
