Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Early Years Room Leader to join our team from September. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and possess strong management and leadership skills. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing daily activities, supporting staff, and fostering a safe and stimulating atmosphere for children aged 2-3 years. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Early Years team, providing guidance, support, and supervision to nursery staff
- Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with curriculum standards
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care at all times
- Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and colleagues regarding children's progress and welfare
- Organise daily routines including meal times, play sessions, and rest periods
- Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Support the professional development of team members through mentoring and training opportunities
- Contribute to creating an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes equal opportunities
Experience
- Proven management or leadership experience within an early years setting or nursery environment
- Extensive experience working directly with children aged 0-5 years
- Strong knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood education principles, and nursery regulations
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Experience in developing activity plans that support child development milestones
- Valid childcare qualification recognised within the UK (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent)
