Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shuttering Carpenter to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork (shuttering) used to shape concrete structures on various commercial and industrial projects. Your expertise will ensure the precise and safe creation of molds that form foundations, walls, columns, and other structural elements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your carpentry skills and mechanical knowledge to deliver high-quality results efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints to determine formwork requirements and specifications.
- Construct, assemble, and install formwork using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry techniques.
- Ensure the formwork is properly aligned, levelled, and securely braced to withstand concrete pour pressures.
- Dismantle formwork after concrete has set, ensuring the safety of all team members during removal.
- Operate heavy machinery and perform heavy lifting tasks safely to transport materials around the site.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with masons, engineers, and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks effectively on-site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter or in a similar carpentry role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to formwork systems and structural components.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Knowledge of roofing techniques, masonry work, and commercial driving is a plus.
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and working at heights when necessary.
- Valid certifications in carpentry or related trades preferred; relevant safety certifications are a plus.

Pay: £24.00-£25.00 per hour
