Child Care Tutor (City & Guilds Level 2)
Location: Bosco College, 281 Jamaica Road, London SE16 4RS
Responsible to: Director of Teaching and Information
Hours: Full-time or Part-time (to be agreed)
Job Purpose
To plan, deliver and assess high-quality teaching and learning for learners studying the City & Guilds Level 2 Childcare qualification. Create an inclusive learning environment and support learners to achieve, progress and develop employability skills.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons.
- Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Differentiate learning for learners with SEND/EHCPs.
- Assess learner work and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate assessment records.
- Support IQA and standardisation activities.
- Act as a personal tutor and monitor learner progress.
- Build relationships with employers and support work placements.
- Maintain registers and contribute to quality improvement.
- Promote safeguarding, Prevent, British Values, equality and diversity.
- Attend meetings, CPD and College events.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Level 3 (or above) qualification in Childcare/Early Years.
- Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one.
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Experience teaching or assessing vocational qualifications.
Desirable:
- TAQA/A1 Assessor qualification.
- IQA qualification.
- Experience of City & Guilds qualifications and Further Education.
Knowledge and Skills
- EYFS and childcare practice.
- Safeguarding and KCSIE.
- Excellent classroom management.
- Strong communication, organisation and IT skills.
- Ability to motivate and support young people.

Pay: £29,700.00-£34,000.00 per year
