We’re working with an incredible specialist setting in Plymouth that supports children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to be a Learning Mentor, playing a vital role in helping pupils thrive both academically and personally.
The Role:
As a Learning Mentor, you’ll be working closely with pupils aged between 5–18, supporting them with:
- Emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Building confidence and social skills
- Accessing tailored learning plans
- Re-engaging with education in a safe, structured environment
You’ll collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure every learner receives the support they need to reach their potential.
What We’re Looking For:
- A calm, compassionate, and resilient approach
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education or care settings
- Ability to build trusting relationships and maintain strong professional boundaries
- A flexible mindset and a sense of humour – every day is different!
Previous experience in SEMH or alternative provision is highly desirable, but we also welcome applications from people with transferable skills from youth work, social care, or similar fields.
