Excel Supply are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Flintshire for a September start.
This is a fantastic full-time, ongoing opportunity to support students aged 11–16 in a vibrant secondary school environment. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will play an important role in helping students achieve their full potential while promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The role will involve:
- Providing classroom support to teachers across a range of subjects
- Supporting individual students and small groups with their learning
- Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and independence
- Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources
- Promoting positive behaviour and helping to maintain a productive learning environment
- Providing support to Welsh-speaking pupils and contributing to a bilingual learning environment where appropriate
The ideal candidate will have:
- The ability to speak Welsh fluently or confidently
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting
- A positive, patient, and proactive approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
- A flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic attitude
- A genuine passion for supporting young people in their education
Previous Teaching Assistant experience is desirable, but we also welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills gained through youth work, coaching, mentoring, care, or other child-focused roles.
