Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of complex, large-scale projects within the UK, with a focus on airport environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, proven project delivery experience, and the ability to operate effectively within highly regulated and fast-paced settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of engineering projects from concept through to completion
- Work closely with project managers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved
- Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings and specifications
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations, client standards, and health & safety requirements
- Manage interfaces between multiple disciplines and contractors
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Assist in procurement processes, including supplier coordination and contract support
- Provide on-site engineering support where required, particularly within airport environments
- Ensure quality assurance and project reporting requirements are met
- Role will require some overnight and out of hours working
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Project Engineering role
- Proven experience working on major projects (infrastructure, construction, or engineering-led programmes)
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and project delivery methodologies
- Experience working in regulated, safety-critical environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- UK Resident
- No Criminal Record
- Full UK driving Licence
- Ability to obtain an Airport Airside pass
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Knowledge of aviation standards, procedures and compliance requirements
- Experience working with NEC 3 & 4 or similar contract frameworks
- Membership of professional accreditation (e.g. IET, APM)
