Pike Moor Veterinary Surgery is an independent small animal practice, and we’re looking for a Veterinary Care Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

As a Veterinary Care Assistant you’ll play an important role in supporting our veterinary surgeons and nursing team, while helping us to provide a high standard of patient care.
Your duties will include:
· Caring for and handling patients in a calm, compassionate manner.
· Assisting the veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons with the day-to-day patient care.
· Cleaning and maintaining clinical areas, kennels and equipment.
· Preparing consult rooms, prep area and theatre ready for the day.
· Assisting with patient examinations and procedures.
· Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
· Supporting the wider team with general practice duties.
· Provide a friendly and welcoming experience for our clients on their pets.
· Assisting with stock control, laundry and general upkeep of the clinic.
· Running in house laboratory samples under the direction of the veterinary surgeon.
Previous veterinary experience would be an advantage, but we’re happy to consider someone who is new in the veterinary industry and has the right attitude and willingness to learn.
