We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistants to join our dedicated Catering Team at Yeovil District Hospital. Every meal served plays an important role in a patient's experience and recovery, and you'll be a vital part of delivering a high-quality service to patients, visitors and staff.

Each Catering Assistant plays a vital role in our catering services team. From delivering food to wards for patients, working in our retail outlets, making sandwiches, to helping us clean our catering spaces, it's all key work and safety is critical.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
As a Catering Assistant, you'll support a wide range of catering activities across the hospital, helping to ensure that food is prepared, delivered and served safely and efficiently. You'll work across catering production, ward services and retail outlets, providing excellent service while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering meals, beverages and catering supplies to wards and departments.
Preparing sandwiches, salads and other basic food items.
Serving customers in hospital retail outlets and providing excellent customer service.
Operating tills and handling daily sales records.
Maintaining clean, safe and hygienic catering environments.
Operating dishwashing equipment and cleaning catering utensils and equipment.
Assisting with stock deliveries and storing supplies safely.
Supporting catering functions and events when required.
