Events Coordinator (Part-Time)
Hours: : 6 hours per week (flexible, with occasional evening and weekend work to attend events)
Contract: Fixed-term contract for an initial period of three (3) months. The continuation of the role will be reviewed every three months and is subject to the availability of funding, the ongoing operational needs of Pilands Wood Community Centre and satisfactory performance.

Purpose of the Role
Pilands Wood Community Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Events Coordinator to plan, promote and support a varied programme of events and activities that bring people together, encourage community participation and support the Centre’s charitable aims.
The Events Coordinator will work closely with the Office Manager, Trustees, volunteers and local organisations to deliver welcoming, inclusive and successful events for the local community.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, organise and coordinate a programme of events and activities for Pilands Wood Community Centre.
· Work with the Office Manager to develop an annual calendar of community events.
· Liaise with staff, volunteers, community groups, suppliers and external organisations to ensure events are well organised and successful.
· Arrange venues, equipment, refreshments, entertainment and any other resources required for events.
· Advertise and promote events through social media, the Community Centre website, newsletters, posters, local noticeboards and other appropriate channels.
· Attend events to oversee their smooth running, provide support and represent Pilands Wood Community Centre in a professional and welcoming manner.
· Encourage community involvement and help recruit and coordinate volunteers for events where appropriate.
· Monitor attendance and gather feedback to evaluate the success of events and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Maintain accurate records, an up-to-date events calendar and promotional materials.
· Provide regular reports and updates to the Office Manager on event planning, attendance, outcomes and future opportunities.
· Work within agreed budgets and seek best value when purchasing event-related goods and services.
· Ensure all events comply with Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, and GDPR requirements.
Person SpecificationEssential
· Excellent organisational and planning skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
· Experience of organising events or community activities.
· Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email, Facebook and other social media platforms.
· A friendly, enthusiastic and proactive approach.
· Commitment to the values of Pilands Wood Community Centre and supporting the local community.
· Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to attend events.
Desirable
· Experience of working within the charity or voluntary sector.
· Experience of community engagement and volunteer coordination.
· Knowledge of event marketing and promotion.
· Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (where appropriate).
General Responsibilities
· Act as an ambassador for Pilands Wood Community Centre, promoting its services and charitable objectives.
· Maintain confidentiality and comply with all organisational policies and procedures.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues, trustees and volunteers.
· Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Office Manager.
