Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment across our facilities. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or supervise maintenance activities. The Maintenance Technician will play a vital role in maintaining safety standards, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues promptly to minimise operational disruptions.
- Repair or replace faulty components using welding, mechanical, or electrical skills as required.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Program and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.
- Supervise maintenance tasks carried out by team members or contractors, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Assist in training junior team members or operators on basic maintenance procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate shutdowns or repairs with minimal impact on production.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in maintenance roles within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong electrical experience with the ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
- Mechanical knowledge including welding, gearboxes, hydraulics, and general machinery repair.
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems and performing basic electrical repairs.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervising experience preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
