We are looking for an ambitious and talented Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and play a key role in maintaining and developing the high standards of all Farlam Hall food offerings.
The role
As Sous Chef, you will be a key member of the kitchen brigade, working closely with the Head Chef and senior team to deliver consistently exceptional food and service.
You will be an experienced, motivated and organised chef who takes pride in their work and is ready to contribute to an award-winning kitchen. You will be confident working across all sections of the kitchen, able to lead by example and equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen meets our exacting standards.
You will:
- Support the Head Chef and senior kitchen team with the daily running of Cedar Tree and all other outlets.
- Lead and motivate the kitchen brigade during service.
- Maintain consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation and service.
- Have a strong understanding of food, seasonality, flavour, textures and cooking techniques.
- Work confidently across all sections of the kitchen.
- Support the onboarding of junior members of the kitchen team.
- Ensure preparation is organised and completed to the required standard ahead of service.
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment throughout the day.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are consistently adhered to.
- Have a thorough understanding of the 14 main allergens.
- Maintain excellent stock rotation and minimise waste.
- Assist with ordering and stock control.
The successful candidate will have previous experience within a high-quality, ideally Michelin-starred or multi-rosette kitchen.
Most importantly, you will have a genuine passion for food, a desire to learn and develop, and the ambition to be part of a team striving for excellence every day.
Full-time, 4.5 days per week – 45 hours per week.
