Our reputation has been built on quality, reliability and exceptional customer service, and we're looking for an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our friendly team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, combining accounts, administration and customer service within a fast-paced engineering environment. Full support and training will be provided where required.
The Role
As our Accounts Assistant, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the business. Working as the sole member of the Accounts team, you'll ensure financial records are accurate, customer accounts are maintained, and administrative processes run smoothly.
No two days are the same, so we're looking for someone who is organised, adaptable and enjoys taking ownership of their work.
Key Responsibilities
· Process and reconcile customer payments using Xero.
· Match and reconcile daily bank transactions.
· Input and process supplier invoices accurately.
· Raise customer invoices in a timely manner.
· Monitor outstanding customer balances and follow up overdue payments professionally.
· Resolve customer account queries and maintain positive customer relationships.
· Maintain customer records and spreadsheets.
· Assist with general office administration and filing.
· Liaise with the shop floor and courier companies to arrange collections and deliveries of parcels and pallets.
· Support colleagues across the business with administrative tasks as required.
What We're Looking For
· Previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role.
· Experience using Xero (preferred but not essential).
· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
· Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
· Good communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
· The ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
· A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a close-knit team.
Desirable
· Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
· Experience dealing with sales and purchase ledgers.
· Confidence communicating with customers and suppliers.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 2:30pm
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Part time hours also available.
