Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing purchasing activities, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services essential to our operations. Duties
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes using ERP systems.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms, prices, and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to coordinate the timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Analyse market trends and supplier performance to optimise purchasing strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information within relevant ERP platforms.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and conduct cost analysis to ensure value for money.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast future procurement needs based on organisational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations throughout all purchasing activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to enhance service quality and reliability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles within a similar industry.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as Dynamics NAV, SAP, SAP ERP, Oracle EBS, JD Edwards, or AS400 is essential.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing advantageous terms.
- Knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and merchandising principles.
- Familiarity with procurement best practices and compliance standards.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in data management and reporting.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
