We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking Summer Outdoor Nursery Assistant to join our friendly team at Wild Roots Childcare. This temporary role is perfect for someone who enjoys spending time outdoors, loves being active, and has a genuine passion for supporting young children to learn through play and exploration.
You do not need a childcare qualification for this role. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to get stuck in, and the motivation to learn. If you're proactive, enjoy working as part of a team, and don't mind getting muddy, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Working within our outdoor setting, you'll help create exciting learning experiences while supporting children aged 0–5 years in a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment.
Responsibilities
- Support children in their daily routines, encouraging independence and confidence.
- Engage with children through outdoor play, nature-based activities, messy play and exploration.
- Help prepare and set up stimulating learning environments both indoors and outdoors.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, following safeguarding and health and safety procedures at all times.
- Be proactive in identifying ways to support children's learning, development and enjoyment throughout the day.
- Work alongside the team to provide a warm, caring and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
- Assist with mealtimes, hygiene routines and general care as required.
- Help maintain a clean, organised and inviting environment, including outdoor spaces.
- Communicate positively with colleagues, children and families.
- Participate in team meetings and any relevant training provided.
