Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and versatile Domestic Gas Engineer / Fabric Engineer to join our growing team. This is a varied role combining domestic gas servicing, maintenance and repairs with general fabric maintenance works across residential and commercial properties.
The ideal candidate will be Gas Safe registered, customer-focused, and confident carrying out a wide range of maintenance tasks to a high standard. You'll work independently while delivering excellent service and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
Duties
Domestic Gas Duties
- Carry out domestic gas servicing, repairs and fault finding.
- Install, maintain and repair gas boilers, heating systems, cookers and associated controls.
- Diagnose and rectify heating and hot water system faults.
- Complete gas safety inspections and issue relevant certification.
- Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe regulations and current legislation.
Fabric Maintenance Duties
- Carry out general building fabric repairs and maintenance.
- Basic plumbing repairs, including taps, toilets and pipework.
- Minor carpentry, including door adjustments, locks and ironmongery.
- Basic painting and decorating.
- Patch plastering and making good.
- Silicone sealing, tiling repairs and other finishing works.
- Report any additional maintenance requirements identified on site.
Essential Requirements
- Current Gas Safe Registration.
- ACS qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 and HTR1 (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in domestic gas servicing and repairs.
- Experience carrying out general fabric maintenance works.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Travel essential
Desirable
- Unvented Hot Water qualification.
- LPG qualification.
- Experience working within housing, commercial buildings or facilities management.
- Additional trade skills such as electrical, tiling or plastering.
