Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Multi Drop Delivery Driver to join our team where we provide drivers to DPD covering Hoyland, Wombwell Stocksbridge, Penistone and the surrounding areas on a self employed basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to multiple locations within designated areas. This role requires excellent organisational skills, a clean driving record, and the ability to manage deliveries in a timely manner. Duties
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals at multiple destinations
- Load and unload goods, including heavy items, with proper handling techniques
- Obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers as required
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Ensure the delivery vehicle remains clean, organised, and in good working condition
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving multi-drop deliveries but not necessary enhance training given to the right person
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a no more than 6 points
- Experience with commercial driving and warehouse operations is advantageous
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Organised with the ability to plan routes effectively under time constraints
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations within the area of operation
