Cricketqube | Part-time, flexible | £13/hr + 55p/mile | Sheffield and Rotherham | Start ASAP
About Cricketqube
Cricketqube delivers inclusive cricket sessions across care homes, community centres, schools, and family settings. We're live and growing across Yorkshire, building something genuinely different in community sport.
Our sessions bring cricket to people who wouldn't normally have access to it: care home residents, older adults, and young people in underserved communities. It's hands-on, rewarding work, and every session makes a visible difference.
We're a small, ambitious team, and everyone who joins us has a real impact on how we grow.
The role
We're looking for a cricket coach to join us in Sheffield and Rotherham immediately. You'll deliver regular sessions at care homes across Sheffield, Rotherham, and South Yorkshire, working with older adults who may have mobility, cognitive, or other health conditions, and adapting your sessions so that everyone can take part.
We're also launching community sessions across the region soon, including sessions for young people, families, and walking cricket, so the role is expected to grow well beyond the initial six months for the right person.
What you'll do
- Deliver inclusive cricket sessions at care homes across Sheffield, Rotherham, and South Yorkshire
- Adapt sessions to participants, mobility aids, cognitive conditions, mixed abilities, all welcome
- Build rapport with care home staff and participants so sessions become a highlight of the week
- Keep accurate session records and submit a short impact form after each session
- Follow Cricketqube's safeguarding and health and safety procedures at all times
- Attend occasional training and shadowing (paid) to develop your skills
What we're looking for
You must have:
- A genuine enthusiasm for working with older adults and a patient, warm approach
- The ability to work independently and use your initiative on the day
- Good communication skills, with participants, care home staff, and the Cricketqube team
- A valid DBS check or willingness to complete one (we'll support this)
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a car (mileage reimbursed at 55p/mile)
Ideally, you also have:
- A cricket background or coaching experience (formal qualifications not required, we'll provide training)
- Experience delivering physical activity or sport sessions to older people or in care settings
- An interest in growing into more responsibility as we expand across Yorkshire
What we offer
- £13/hr for all sessions delivered and prep time
- 55p/mile mileage reimbursement for all work travel
- A structured session shadowing period before you go solo
- Full session plans, risk assessments, and equipment provided
- Support toward cricket and multi-sport coaching qualifications
- Career development opportunities, we're growing fast and promote from within
- Pension enrolment if eligible
- A team that's genuinely invested in your development
Hours
Flexible, starting at approximately 9 hours/week with a strong likelihood of growth as the Sheffield and Rotherham programme expands into community sessions.
Start date
As soon as possible, we have sessions already scheduled.
