Job Title – Class 1 HGV Driver
£15.25 per hour
£25.00 night out
£10.00 per day meal allowance
Location – Mellor Brook, Lancashire
Monks Contractors are waste specialists - we provide haulage and waste specification plant hire to the waste industry. We also have a high pressure water drain jetting team, civil contracting team, plant repair, hire and sales
Responsible to: Transport Manager
As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for collecting waste / recyclable materials from our customers and delivering this to the requested sites. You will drive and operate either a walking floor or ejector trailer (experience preferred), using safe and efficient driving techniques in line with the customers’ requirements.
We have both day and tramping available.
Responsible for;
· Observing health and safety requirements
· be responsible for the safety of self and members of the public
· Geographical knowledge to ensure efficient and effective travelling
Essential Requirements;
· Class 1 HGV Driving License
· Full CPC obtained
· Experience of using a Digital Tachograph Card
· Working knowledge of Driving Regulations and The Working Time Directive
· Enthusiastic and committed
· Understanding of Health and Safety obligations
· The ability to work under pressure and actively seek solutions to problems
· Have a flexible approach to suit the business
· Early starts will be required on occasion
· You will be required to commit to nights out or day work
· Weekend work will be necessary as required
