Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver Tramper to join our logistics team. This role involves operating heavy goods vehicles with a focus on Curtain side deliveries, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods across various locations. As a Tramper driver, you will spend extended periods on the road, managing deliveries and pickups while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks, primarily Curtain side vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
- Plan efficient routes for delivery schedules, ensuring timely arrivals and departures at multiple sites
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds, ensuring stability during transit and compliance with load safety regulations
- Complete accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery paperwork
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders during pickups and drop-offs
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) certification
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with delivery driver experience preferred
- Familiarity with flatbed loading and securing techniques for safe transportation of goods
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance standards for heavy goods vehicles
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Excellent navigation skills and ability to plan routes efficiently for long-distance journeys
- Flexibility to spend extended periods away from home as required by tramper shifts
