Sofa Connections Ltd is a growing UK manufacturer of high-quality sofas and upholstered furniture, supplying retailers across the UK.
We are looking for an experienced Upholstery Sewing Machinist to join our growing production team on a part-time basis, with the opportunity for the role to increase to full-time as the business continues to grow.
The Role
We are looking for someone who has previous experience working as an upholstery machinist within the furniture industry and is confident working to a high standard.
The role will involve sewing and preparing a range of upholstery components, including:
- Sofa cushions
- Sofa body covers
- Piped work
- Leather and upholstery fabrics
- Overlocking
- Twin-needle sewing
- Pattern matching
- Building and preparing fabric swatch books
- Working from patterns and specifications
- Maintaining a consistently high standard of quality and finish
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous upholstery/furniture industry sewing experience – essential
- Be confident using industrial sewing machines
- Have experience with upholstery fabrics and leather
- Be experienced in piping, overlocking and twin-needle work
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Take pride in producing high-quality work
- Be reliable, hardworking and organised
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a small team
Hours
20 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working hours are to be agreed at offer stage.
There is a view to increasing the position to full-time hours as the business grows and the successful candidate becomes established within the team.
