Are you looking for a role where your skills will make a difference to people with a rare eye cancer called Ocular Melanoma?
We are looking for someone to develop our corporate partnerships and use their experience to engage businesses and organisations in supporting our work. Please do not apply if you do not have demonstrable experience in corporate or partnership fundraising, or experience of working in a similar fundraising role within the charity sector.
Background
Ocular melanoma is the most common eye cancer in adults, with approximately 750 people a year diagnosed in the UK. It can be a terminal condition, but we are seeing improvements in the treatment people receive.
Our mission is to change the landscape for people with ocular melanoma cancers by uniting the wider community so that every person receives the support, information, and treatment they need to live well for longer.
We do this by:
- Promoting and protecting the physical and mental health of people with ocular melanoma and their families in the United Kingdom through the provision of support, information, education and practical advice.
- Promoting research for the public benefit on the subject of ocular melanoma and to publish the useful results.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Partnerships
- Identify, develop and manage corporate partnership opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with existing and prospective corporate supporters.
- Secure and manage Charity of the Year partnerships.
- Develop sponsorship opportunities for events and campaigns.
- Prepare tailored partnership proposals and presentations.
- Deliver high-quality stewardship to corporate partners, ensuring long term engagement and maximising partnership value.
Corporate Fundraising
- Promote and grow workplace giving initiatives.
- Develop and support corporate challenge events and employee fundraising activities.
- Work with businesses to maximise fundraising opportunities through engagement campaigns.
- Deliver excellent stewardship to corporate partners, ensuring long term support and retention.
Relationship Management
- Maintain accurate records of corporate supporters using the organisation's CRM or donor database.
- Produce reports on partnership activity and income generation.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of partnership benefits.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify and maximise new partnership opportunities.
- Represent the charity at networking events, meetings, and fundraising activities where appropriate.
Marketing and Communications
- Work with the fundraising and marketing team to develop partnership marketing materials.
- Create engaging content to celebrate corporate partnerships across social media, newsletters, and the website.
- Promote fundraising campaigns and corporate success stories.
General Support
- Undertake other reasonable duties, consistent with the responsibilities and level of the role, to support the fundraising and marketing team and the wider charity.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience in corporate fundraising or partnership fundraising within the charity sector.
- Experience securing and managing corporate partnerships.
- Ability to identify, develop, and nurture relationships with corporate supporters.
- Knowledge of sponsorship, Charity of the Year partnerships, and workplace giving.
- Excellent relationship building and networking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desirable:
- Experience using CRM or donor databases such as Salesforce.
- Experience planning and delivering corporate challenge events.
- Experience creating fundraising proposals and presentations.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and social media to support fundraising campaigns.
