Reporting to Service & Support Manager and working under the supervision of the Workshop Service & Support Supervisor the role of the Workshop Service Technician will be to undertake the service and repair of professional audio visual equipment to both modular and component level using all relevant tools and equipment in order to assist in generating income, building, strengthening and maintaining strong relations with clients, manufacturers and suppliers by ensuring that the department delivers exceptional service to all or its clients, internal and external.
The Service and Support Team maintains close working relationships with the other functions of the company and as a result the role may also require the regular servicing and repair of audio visual equipment for the live production team prior to leaving for or when returning from events or tours, the preparation and testing of audio-visual systems and equipment prior to delivery to site for installation, along with the preparation and testing of ex-hire equipment prior to sale.

Day to day tasks:

Responsible for supporting the diagnosis and repair of professional audio-visual systems and equipment to modular and component level as well as the regular service and testing of equipment following implemented procedures.

Assist with the service, test and preparation of ex-hire equipment ahead of sale.

Responsible for managing own workloads to ensure all activities are successfully completed with anything outstanding identified and reported along the correct channels.

Identify improvements to processes, performance or productivity and collaborate with the team leaders to implement them.

Responsible for developing, strengthening and maintaining positive relationships with other internal departments, individuals, external clients, manufacturers and suppliers; communicating in a clear and effective manner using all available methods.

Immediately report to management any anomalies, lost, stolen or damaged tools or equipment.

Adhere to Solotech standards and be a strong ambassador for the company’s core values.

Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.
Essential Skills / experience:
-
Working knowledge of electronic circuit principles.

Ability to read and understand circuit schematics and service manuals.

Ability to interact with and work closely people of all professional levels.

Good working knowledge of MS Office software as well as ability to use CRM software.

Flexibility and adaptability
-
Ability to meet deadlines and remain calm in a busy working environment.
Desirable skills/ experience:
-
Operational or technical knowledge of professional audio visual equipment.
Work experience:
- A minimum 1 year of practical experience of fault finding and repair to system or component level
Level of education:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in the field of electronics or audio / AV service.
Requirements:

Right to Work and Remain in the UK. (Essential)

Full clean driving license. (Desirable)

Ability to travel throughout the UK including overnight stays as required. (Desirable)
