As the leaves start to turn, help someone else's Autumn years be their best ones yet.
At Abney & Baker, we're a preventative home care provider, not a traditional care agency. We help people stay active, confident, and in control - supporting them to lead genuinely quality later lives, not just get through the day.
We're looking for Care & Support Team Members to join us this September, travelling between clients' homes across Bath and the surrounding areas.
If you want a role where your time, judgement, and compassion genuinely make a difference, this is it.
Why join us:
- Excellent pay - average £14.47/hour based on real carer earnings, plus 55p per mile for mileage
- Full shift pay - your full rate for your full shift, including gaps, travel, and waiting time
- Reliable hours - no zero-hour contracts, so you can plan your life with confidence
- Time to care properly - minimum 30-minute visits, with paid travel and waiting time
- A voice that counts - your observations shape how we support our clients
- Clear progression - a structured Carer Levels pathway; most managers started as carers
- Full training provided - paid induction and ongoing development, whatever your experience
- Strength & mobility coaching pathway - train alongside your care role if you'd like to help clients move well and stay independent
"You're listened to, supported, and trusted. You really feel part of something that matters." — Abney & Baker Carer, Indeed Review
Your role:
You'll be a steady, reassuring presence, helping people live safely and well at home — noticing changes early, encouraging good routines, and protecting their independence.
Visits may include:
- Preparing meals and supporting good nutrition
- Encouraging safe mobility and supporting medication routines
- Promoting healthy habits and gentle activity
- Companionship and meaningful conversation
- Light housework or personal care
- Spotting early signs of issues before they become crises
What we're looking for:
- A kind, reliable, empathetic nature (experience welcome, not essential)
- A UK driving licence and access to your own car
- The right to work in the UK
- Availability for 7am–3pm and/or 3pm–10pm shifts (discussed at interview)
- Flexibility to work alternate weekends
- Willingness to travel across Saltford and surrounding towns and villages, depending on client needs
A role with purpose
This September, be part of a team that puts prevention before crisis and people before process - helping people age well and live life on their own terms.
