We are seeking a dedicated and Level 3 qualified Room Leader and Nursery 3rd in Charge to join our management team and support our childcare team in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of the setting and the children while working within a supportive and professional team.
This position would suit existing Room Leaders but we would consider experienced nursery practitioners with a an ambition to progress.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Management in overseeing daily operations and ensuring high standards of childcare
- Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Supervise and guide nursery staff and volunteers, fostering a positive team environment
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for children and staff
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and daily routines
- Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, attendance, and reporting
Requirements
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices
- Experience working directly with children, ideally within a nursery environment
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative
- Passionate about child development with a caring, patient demeanour
- Organised, reliable, and able to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £24,420.00-£28,000.00 per year
