Job Overview
We are looking for an ambitious and dynamic General Manager to take a leading role across APD and HWSS, two established businesses operating within education and football development across Kent and South East London.
Working closely with the Directors, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and continued development of both businesses, with a particular focus on business development, operational performance and sustainable commercial growth.
This is a varied and multifaceted leadership role that requires someone who can see the bigger picture while also being comfortable getting involved in the day-to-day running of the businesses. You will help identify new opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, strengthen existing relationships and ensure our internal operations, people and processes are equipped to support our next phase of growth.
Our three-year ambitions include expanding our Post-16 Football Academy provision, developing new partnerships with primary schools, growing participation within our Elite Centre and building stronger relationships across the grassroots football community.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants genuine ownership and the ability to make an impact within growing businesses. You will work directly with the Directors to help shape strategy, turn ideas into actionable plans and drive those plans forward.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management and operations across APD and HWSS.
- Work alongside the Directors to develop and deliver the strategic direction of both businesses.
- Drive business development and commercial growth, identifying and converting new opportunities.
- Develop new relationships with schools, grassroots football clubs and other relevant partners.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing schools, clubs and key stakeholders.
- Support the expansion of our Post-16 Football Academy provision, including the development of additional sites.
- Drive growth and participation across our Elite Centre and wider football programmes.
- Monitor commercial performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue, profitability and efficiency.
- Review and improve internal systems, processes and ways of working to support sustainable growth.
- Lead, support and develop the wider team, creating clear expectations and accountability.
- Ensure a consistently high standard of service is maintained across our education and football provision.
- Oversee key projects and initiatives, ensuring plans are progressed and delivered effectively.
- Provide the Directors with clear updates on performance, opportunities, challenges and priorities.
- Represent APD and HWSS professionally with external partners and stakeholders.

- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities.

- Confidence working independently and making informed decisions.
- The ability to work closely with business owners/Directors and turn strategic objectives into practical actions.
- An interest/background in education, sport and the development of young people would be highly advantageous.
Pay: £27,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in London DA15
